This coming Wednesday, September 11, civil rights attorney & fellow
Washington University in St. Louis professor Denise Lieberman & I are
giving a public talk titled “Digital Intrusion & Digital Privacy: What
THEY Know, What YOU Don’t”. Here’s the description:
“Surveillance by strangers, by criminals, by the police, and now by
government agencies. How do they do it? What are the ramifications,
legally and technologically? How is the current situation brought
about by Edward Snowden different historically? How do you protect
your communcations? And how do you answer those who say ‘If you’re not
doing anything wrong, then your government surveillance
shouldn’t bother you’?”
Please come if you can. The talk is at the St. Louis UNIX Users Group
(http://www.sluug.org), but it’s open to the public, & we’d love to
have as many people as possible there.
Where: Graybar Electric Co., Inc., at 11885 Lackland Road, Maryland
Heights, MO 63146. Walk in, tell the guard you’re going to the tech
meeting, sign in, & he’ll direct you to the elevators.
When: The meeting starts at 6:30, but Denise & I don’t go on until 7.
Try to get there before 7, please. We’ll speak until about 9, with
plenty of time for questions.
Hope to see you there!
